The Alter-G is a state of the art piece of therapy equipment that enables patients with all types of lower body injuries and ailments to rehabilitate in an altered state of gravity and decreased compression on the ankle, knee, hip and low back. The Alter-G is a unique treadmill that can un-weight you, allowing you to walk, run, or perform closed-chain exercises within the treadmill earlier in your rehab process than previously possible. In the alter-g Force therapists are able to decrease your body weight from 1-80% allowing patients to rehabilitate at a faster pace with less pain and a reduced risk of further injury.

Kinesiology tape is applied on muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints providing a breathable lightweight support during rehabilitation, training or competition. Kinesiology tape provides neuromuscular feedback to your body while either inhibiting or facilitating the firing of muscles and tendons. When applied to joints kinesiology tape provides support and stability without the restriction or bulk associated with common wraps or braces. Force Physical Therapy utilizes Strength Tape brand kinesiology tape due to its vastly superior stretch and adhesiveness compared to similar products allowing patients to benefit from tape up to 3-5 days after application.

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
IASTM is an instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively address scar tissue and fascial restrictions. Combined with appropriate mobilization of joints and exercise to promote proper movement patterns, the physical therapist is able to diagnose and treat areas of soft tissue exhibiting signs of tissue dysfunction of inflammation.
Through either heat or suction, the skin is gently drawn upwards by creating a vacuum in a cup over the target area of the skin. The cup stays in place for five to fifteen minutes. It is believed by some to help treat pain, deep scar tissues in the muscles and connective tissue, muscle knots, and swelling. This technique is used extensively in the treatment of our high level athletes to assist in recovery from the wear and tear caused by training and competition.
Hyperbaric medicine, also known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy is the medical use of pure oxygen at a higher than atmospheric pressure. This increased pressure, combined with an increase in oxygen to 100 percent, dissolves oxygen in the blood plasma and in all body cells, tissues and fluids at up to 10 times normal concentration. Hyperbaric medicine has recently become more prevalent in recent years for the treatment of chronic degenerative health problems. Additionally, anecdotal evidence has been strong linking hyperbaric treatments to improved athletic performance and recovery.

Blood Flow Restriction Therapy
Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation (BFR) is a paradigm shifting intervention for the rehabilitation professional with over 160 peer-reviewed articles in the scientific literature. By applying a tourniquet briefly and intermittently to an exercising limb you can induce significant and substantial strength, hypertrophy and endurance changes while using a very light load. This developing treatment technique is extremely promising in expediting the recovery of muscular strength following injury or surgery.
Dry Needling and Trigger Point Therapy
Using orthopedic and manual muscle testing sports acupuncturists can ascertain the exact location of pain, muscle imbalance, or soft tissue lesion and use specialized acupuncture points to correct overactive or inhibited muscle fibers. The therapist then uses motor point needling combined with low level electric impulses to “reset” the affected muscle spindle fibers. This teaches the body to maintain balance between its opposing muscle groups, maintain the muscles strength and tone, as well as open the nervous system circuit to maintain optimal functioning and range of motion. Results are often immediate providing a quick return to activity and peak level of performance for the patient.
