Education

Dr. Ortega graduated from Florida State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Florida International University in 2025. His background in athletic training sparked an early interest in sports medicine and working with athletes. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Prior to Force Physical Therapy

Throughout his clinical training, Dr. Ortega gained experience across several sports and orthopedic clinics throughout South Florida. After graduation, he worked in a sports physical therapy setting, where he had the opportunity to work with athletes through both rehabilitation and performance training. His connection with Force began as a physical therapy student when he had the opportunity to assist with NFL Draft preparation and strength and conditioning for members of the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Ortega is especially interested in helping athletes bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance. He enjoys combining physical therapy with strength and conditioning, using objective testing to track progress, and finding ways to adjust exercises to meet athletes where they are and gradually build them back toward the demands of their sport.

Athletic Experience

A former high school wrestler, Dr. Ortega transitioned into strength training and weightlifting after wrestling. Outside of the gym, he recently picked up tennis and is slowly working his way into padel — although his padel skills have yet to catch up to the amount of time he spends around the courts.
