Dr. Christopher Ellis, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS

Education

Dr. Ellis is a 2004 graduate of Canisius College, Buffalo, New York where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training (ATC). He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2007 from University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) sanctioned by the National Strength and Conditioning Association since 2011.

At Force Physical Therapy

Dr. Ellis is one of the founding partners of Force Physical Therapy. He specializes in manual therapy and rehabilitation of the elite athlete and has treated hundreds of professional athletes in South Florida, including NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, Tennis and Golf athletes. As both an ATC and DPT, Dr. Ellis has a unique experience of working with athletes on the field at the time of injury, as well as off the field directing post-surgical and post-injury rehabilitation. He is a member of the US Olympic Sailing rehab team as a physical therapist and athletic trainer. Additionally, Dr. Ellis is the preferred provider for Bommarito Performance Systems where he oversees rehabilitation programs for professional, collegiate, and high-school athletes. He has been a key member of the rehabilitation team with the hugely successful Bommarito performance NFL combine training program.

Prior to Force Physical Therapy

Prior to Force Physical Therapy, Dr. Ellis gained valuable experience working in multiple out-patient sports medicine clinics. Additionally, he was one of the founding partners of Jaguar Therapeutics, Aventura and Coconut Grove.

Athletic Experience

Dr. Ellis works with many professional, collegiate, and high school athletic teams. He also serves as Director of Medical Operations for Bommarito Performance Systems and the US Sailing Team.
