Dr. Joshua Serafin, PT, DPT

Education

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Serafin graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences. He went on to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Ohio University in Athens, OH.

Prior to Force Physical Therapy

During his education at Ohio University, Dr. Serafin participated in numerous outpatient and inpatient clinical experiences which has led to a solid foundation of knowledge in acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. He participated in a 16-week clinical experience at Select Specialty Hospital in Cleveland, OH where he gained exposure in managing the rehabilitation of patients with cardiopulmonary, neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal pathologies. Prior to graduation, Dr. Serafin spent his final clinical rotation at Force Physical Therapy where he was ultimately hired as a full-time physical therapist.

Athletic Experience

Dr. Serafin played baseball and basketball throughout high school and continued to play baseball competitively following his graduation. He now enjoys playing all sports recreationally.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Serafin is passionate in all areas of sports and fitness. Throughout his education, he developed a skill set in the 2-D video analysis and treatment of the running athlete in addition to elective education in the rehabilitation of sports physical therapy. He enjoys continuing to learn about bridging the gap between rehabilitation and sports performance.
