Education

Dr. Kimberly Mendoza is a graduate of the University of Miami where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Working in an outpatient rehab center while completing her undergraduate degree inspired her passion for physical therapy, leading her to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at the University of St. Augustine in Miami, Florida.

Prior to Force Physical Therapy

Dr. Mendoza’s physical therapy journey began in an outpatient rehab center where she worked as a patient service coordinator, honing her interpersonal skills and cultivating her desire to deliver personalized patient care. At Memorial Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Center she gained experience diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation, with a focus on knee/hip joint replacements. She worked alongside other therapists and orthopedic surgeons to ensure successful rehabilitation for professional athletes from the NFL and MLR’s Miami Sharks. She also has acute rehabilitative experience serving predominantly geriatric patients at UF Health Leesburg Hospital, specifically treating patients who suffered from neurological conditions, cardiopulmonary emergencies, post-operative joint replacements, and musculoskeletal injuries.

Areas of Interest

She is deeply interested in orthopedics, promoting healthy lifestyles with movement, and improving functional longevity. Having been a physical therapy patient for an ACL injury, she understands the relationships formed between physical therapists and their patients are integral to achieving optimal patient outcomes, and strives to make sure patients are the drivers of their rehabilitative journeys. In her free time she enjoys going on runs, weight lifting, and spending time with her family.
