Dr. Zachary Brooks, PT, DPT

Education

Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Brooks earned both his bachelor’s and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degrees at Ohio University in Athens, OH.

Prior to Force Physical Therapy

Prior to becoming a PT at Force Physical Therapy, Dr. Brooks gained valuable experience as a student physical therapist at Force during his final 16 week clinical rotation where he got the opportunity to help with NFL draft prep and NFL offseason rehab. After graduation, Dr. Brooks spent time working as a physical therapist at Fox Physical Therapy in Miami, Florida where he had the opportunity to treat professional and recreational athletes and a variety of orthopedic conditions in the general outpatient population.

Athletic Experience

Dr. Brooks grew up playing football, basketball, and baseball competitively before injuries sustained in high school brought him into the PT clinic as a frequent patient, where he discovered a passion for rehabilitation. Dr. Brooks is currently rookie of the year in spike ball at Force Physical Therapy and has also been trying to improve his golf game.

Areas of Interest

During his time at Ohio University, Dr. Brooks had the opportunity to take advanced elective courses of analysis and treatment of the running athlete and Sports physical therapy courses. Dr. Brooks also has an interest in ACL rehabilitation and had the opportunity to take a seminar course with Dr. Dustin Grooms where we took a deeper dive into the research and purpose behind the use of cognitive and neurological interventions while rehabbing ACL injuries. He is looking forward to taking additional courses with focus on strength and conditioning to strengthen the connection between rehabilitation and athletic performance.
